Beaver and Cub Sleep Over - 16-06-2006On Friday evening 22 children arrived at Tovil Scout Headquarters for a Space themed sleepover. After unpacking their kit in their tents, the Cubs outside and the Beavers in the Hall they played a Wide game to find the flying saucers hidden on the site. A barbecue and soup followed and then it was time for the Beavers to go to bed. The Cubs sang a few songs round the fire and they too went to bed. All lights were out by 11pm! The Cubs were up early on Saturday and played on the field whilst the Beavers slept in as the Hall was still dark. After breakfast the children did craft and cooking making flying saucers, sun rays, rockets, alien puppets, window art, crater cakes, pizza and spaceship biscuits. They also played several space themed games and with the parachute. The weather was very hot and sunny and we had a job to keep cool and in the shade although the tents dried quickly from the morning dew. After a ploughman’s style lunch the children washed up and then packed up their things and played more games and did a string trail in the woods. We finished the event with a Scouts own service. more news articles... | Latest newsGroup Camp 2008 |
